Life at Cathedral View
A life that feels familiar, supported and full of moments that matter. Whatever support you need, we provide it thoughtfully and professionally, so you can feel safe, comfortable, and free to enjoy each day.
Personal Care
Help with dressing, washing and mobility is always delivered with dignity and respect. We take time to learn what feels comfortable for each resident, whether that’s a little support to start the day, or more hands-on help, so independence is encouraged wherever possible.
Mornings begin with a gentle handover, then personal care at the times residents prefer (some choose to have personal care during the night shift). Residents can join the communal areas for breakfast, or stay in their room if they’d rather
Medical & Specialist Care
For more complex health needs, our registered nurses provide 24-hour care, including dementia and palliative support. Every shift includes a registered nurse 24/7 in our Nursing Home and a Trained Officer 24/7 in the Residential Home who are supported by District Nurses daily, so clinical help is always close.
Care is joined-up and carefully managed, from medication support and monitoring to more specialist needs such as PEG feeding, catheters, dressings and symptom control. We also work closely with wider professionals, including local GPs, Dietitians and SALT, with a weekly GP ward round to support continuity and reassurance.
When end-of-life care is needed, we approach it with compassion and flexibility, supporting both the resident and their family, and taking time for early conversations and Advanced Care Planning so wishes are understood and respected.
Social Life
Life at Cathedral View is about connection, friendly conversations, shared routines, and the simple joy of being part of a community. Some residents love the buzz of the main lounge, while others prefer quieter companionship, either way, there’s always a place to feel included.
There’s a gentle rhythm to the day: a mid-morning tea trolley with hot drinks and biscuits, music sessions and 1–1 time, and afternoons filled with varied activities, singers, crafts, baking, yoga, hairdressing, and more. We also support trips to church on Sundays and other meaningful outings.
Dining & Drinks
Mealtimes are a real highlight. Seasonal menus, comforting favourites and themed evenings, all cooked with locally-sourced fresh ingredients, create something to look forward to, with dietary needs and preferences always catered for.
Lunch begins at noon, with homemade meals and homemade puddings, and there are refreshment trolleys through the day, helping residents stay nourished, hydrated and cared for.
Laundry & Housekeeping
Everyday comfort is often in the details. Bedrooms are kept fresh and welcoming with daily housekeeping, clean linens, and personal laundry handled with care, so residents can relax knowing day-to-day practicalities are taken care of.
